Scott McCreery's hit single "Five More Minutes," inspired a Hallmark Christmas movie with the same name.

The movie, which will air Saturday at 10 p.m. as part of Hallmark's Miracles of Christmas Celebration, features Nikki Deloach and David Haydn-Jones.

The movie is about a woman's Christmas wish that is answered in an unexpected way when her late grandfather's journal turns up and reveals an untold romance.

The song was written about McCreery's grandfather but tells a story everyone could relate to, he said. The lyrics in the song paint a picture of what it's like to lose someone you love:

"At eighty-six my grandpa said, "There's angels in the room"

All the family gathered 'round, knew the time was comin' soon

With so much left to say I prayed, Lord, I ain't finished

Just give us five more minutes"

McCreery, a Garner native who won American Idol in 2011, said that it was "a special day writing this one. We all sat down, and at first, I was just talking about my granddaddy. I always believed in it and thought it was a story that everyone could relate to — I feel like everyone has these things that they go back to and wish they had more time."

He plans to kick off his 2022 tour in Raleigh on Jan. 20 at the Ritz.

Tickets are on sale now for around $36 at Live Nation's website. Those who attend the concert must either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of a negative coronavirus test before attending.
