Rocky Mount Police Investigating Woman's Death as Homicide

Rocky Mount police are investigating a woman’s death as a homicide.

A family member found Carolyn Whitehead Ranesome dead in an apartment at 912 Gregg Court on Jan. 2, police said.

The family member immediately contacted police, which responded to the scene and established a crime scene investigation. Investigators said they are following up on some leads.

The crime is believed to have occurred between 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 and midnight on Jan. 2.
