Rocky Mount Police ask for public's help to find suspect of deadly hit-and-run

The Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD) is asking for the public's help after a man was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday morning.

At 12:59 a.m., Rocky Mount Police responded to the intersection of E. Raleigh Boulevard and Stokes Street after receiving a call about a fatal hit-and-run.

The preliminary investigation revealed that 33-year-old Davelle Lashon Debro was crossing E. Raleigh Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle. Debro died at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene heading east. The RMPD is seeking the public's assistance in locating the suspect's SUV – a black 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban with moderate damage to the front right and missing at least part of the right headlight.
