RDU launches new flights, hires TSA agents ahead of busy travel season

RDU is growing rapidly. As the number of people traveling surges, the airport is expanding to meet the demand.

RDU officials are gearing up for a robust season, which is why there’s been a big push to hire more TSA employees.

The airport is seeing tremendous growth, including Wednesday's announcement that Avelo would add three new routes in the coming month.

“The partnership between RDU and Avelo continues to expand as they add more flights, station more aircraft and create more jobs to support the crews based here," said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. "We appreciate their investment in the Research Triangle and look forward to growing with them in the future.”

The TSA is hiring officers ahead of the spring and summer travel season, and is offering significant pay increase opportunities for future growth. This is for both full- and part-time positions.

Anyone interested in applying can stop by the NC Works Career Center at 1105 S. Briggs Ave. in Durham between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. You can also apply online at jobs.tsa.gov.
