Durant Nature Preserve in north Raleigh is poised to get a new nature play space that's designed for kids of all abilities, and the city of Raleigh is seeking ideas and feedback from the public.

Through June 19, the public is encouraged to complete a short survey about the planned play area.

Here's what the city says about the space:

The Durant Nature Play Space will provide a universally accessible space where people of all abilities and ages can come together to experience play, imagination, and exploration in nature. We envision our community brought closer together through shared outdoor nature play experiences that help foster social bonds, healthy bodies, and healthy minds for children and "children at heart."

These nature plays areas, which you can find at Prairie Ridge Ecostation in Raleigh, White Deer Park in Garner and Wilkerson Nature Preserve in Raleigh, among other locations, use natural materials to build spaces for kids to climb and play. The final concept plan for the play space will be complete by summer 2020.

More information about the survey is on Raleigh's website.
