The Peace Street Bridge in Raleigh claimed another victim on Tuesday morning.

A tractor-trailer got stuck under the bridge near Capital Boulevard and West Street, northwest of downtown, as the sun was rising, peeling back the top of the trailer.

Hours after the truck pulled from under the bridge it remained in the roadway, blocking the interchange at Peace and West streets through 9 a.m.

A resident of nearby high-rise apartment shared photos of the accident with WRAL News.

The bridge is notorious for trapping trucks when drivers fail to recognize the signs warning of a 12"4" clearance.
