Raleigh police respond to bank robbery in downtown Raleigh

Raleigh police confirmed a bank robbery happened Thursday in downtown Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Watch Commander, the robbery happened at approximately 3:11 p.m. Thursday at Mechanics and Farmers Bank on 13 E. Hargett St.

Police said the subject entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect left.

Police said no weapons were used and there were no injuries.

Multiple squad cars could be seen at the bank, as well as forensics dusting the bank door for fingerprints.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
