Raleigh plans bevy of pup parties this spring, summer with new dog park, pop-pup parks

For families with four-legged members, there are plenty of activities in Raleigh this spring and summer to keep you busy.

The city of Raleigh is planning a bevy of pup parties in the next few months for families and their four-legged friends, including the opening of a new dog park.

Here's what's scheduled:

Pop-Pupalooza at Dorothea Dix Park, downtown Raleigh, noon to 6 p.m., April 29. Enjoy food trucks, beer, games, and many dog-related vendors.

Buffaloe Road Dog Park Opening, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 6. The new park for pups and their people will be at 5812 Buffaloe Rd., Raleigh. The 1.5-acre dog park features two separate areas - one for larger dogs and another for smaller ones. The fenced-in off-leash area also includes dog waste stations, drinking water pad and shade for people and their pets.

Pop-Pup Park, City Market Parking Lot, downtown Raleigh, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., May 13. A temporary space for dogs.

Pop-Pup Park, Raleigh Municipal Building, downtown Raleigh, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., June 8 to June 10. Another temporary space for pups to play.

Pop-Pupalooza at Dorothea Dix Park, noon to 6 p.m., June 23. Enjoy food trucks, beer, games and many dog-related vendors.

Pop-Pup Park at Nash Square, downtown Raleigh, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sept. 7 to Sept. 9. Temporary spaces for dogs to play.
