According to a study done by Veterans United Home Loans, Raleigh is the fourth best city for veterans to live in based on economic wellness, employment and overall quality of life.

The report gathered data from multiple government entities and a social media survey of veterans. This information was then used to compare the quality of life for veterans in 100 of the most populous U.S. cities.

The data showed that Raleigh has below-average numbers of homeless veterans and a below-average percentage of veterans living below the poverty line.

Raleigh ranked 12th lowest out of 100 for homeless veterans and 13th lowest for veterans living in poverty.

The No. 4 ranking overall was achieved despite poor statistics in areas of housing affordability and median income for local cost of living.
