Puppy found tied to tree with rope finds forever home with foster family
A tiny puppy whose September rescue broke hearts is healthy and growing strong with his new forever home this Christmas.
The SPCA of Wake County shared the happy news and some adorable photos on Instagram this week.
According to the SPCA, Nash has grown quite a bit since September and is happy with his adoptive family.
Just several months ago, Jessica Clayborn found little Nash on a small island of dry land near her home surrounded by knee-deep mud. Clayborn told the SPCA that, as Nash struggled to get free, the rope around his neck cut further into his skin.
Clayborn rescued Nash and took him to the SPCA of Wake County, where he was treated for chemical burns and maggots.
Clayborn doesn't know how the puppy got stuck, but she suspects foul play.
“There’s no way he could have made it through the mud on his own and ended up tangled around a tree like that. I barely made it through the mud,” she said.
Nash recovered well from his wounds under the care of his foster family. Recently, his foster parents adopted him, and now the healthy and happy pup has a permanent home for Christmas.
