Ponysaurus, Eastcut Sandwich Bar to open Raleigh locations

Ponysaurus Brewing Co. will be among the new businesses at Raleigh Iron Works, an upcoming mixed-use innovation hub set to open in spring 2023, developers announced Monday.

Ponysaurus Brewing Co. will be among the new businesses at Raleigh Iron Works, an upcoming mixed-use innovation hub set to open in spring 2023, developers announced Monday.

Ponysaurus will be opening a barrel room and restaurant at Iron Works. The space will include a sour beer facility with production space for barrel aging, blending and bottling. The restaurant will serve pizza, bar food and a have variety of beers on tap.

"The expansion of our sour beer and barrel programs has been years in the making," said Ponysaurus co-owner Nick Hawthorne-Johnson said. "The creativity and intention that is being poured into Raleigh Iron Works make it the perfect fit for our barrel room and restaurant."

Ponysaurus Brewing Co. opened its first location in Durham in 2013. There is a second Ponysaurus location in Wilmington.

Eastcut Sandwich Bar is also opening a location at Iron Works. Eastcut opened its flagship location in Durham four years ago. The Raleigh location's menu will be the same as its first location, with a selection of hand-crafted sandwiches and a variety of craft beer, cider and wine.

Health and hospitality concept F(X) will also be opening a location at Iron Works. The business focuses on personalized, VIP and concierge personal training. The Raleigh location will also offer physical therapy, acupuncture, nutrition and science-based performance training.

Raleigh Iron Works, located at 2200 Atlantic Ave, will bring nearly 500,000 square feet of creative office space, 90,000-plus square feet of retail. and 220 new residential units to Raleigh’s Five Points, Person Street, and Mordecai neighborhoods.
