A police officer and a Raleigh man suffered minor injuries, including a bite, during a scuffle Thursday night.
Officers with the Raleigh Police Department were dispatched to the Budget Inn at 3804 New Bern Avenue at 8:44 p.m. for a trespassing call.
Police said the suspect, 32-year-old Billy Lamont Graham, of Raleigh, bit a responding officer's hand.
The officer then used his taser and pepper spray, police said.
The officer and Graham were taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.
Graham was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer as well as resisting a public officer, identity theft, larceny and injury to personal property.
