A man was charged in connection with a Durham shooting from May.

Elijah Darnell Bishop was charged in connection to a shooting that occurred on Fayetteville Street on May 6.

A man was shot near the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Linwood Avenue around 7:15 p.m. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, Bishop was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm within the city.

Bishop, 25, received a $150,000 secured bond and is being held in the Durham County Jail. Bishop is awaiting extradition to Connecticut for a parole violation.
