A person was killed Friday night in Raleigh after being hit by a train.

At 9:41 p.m., Raleigh police responded to a call for service regarding a pedestrian struck by a train near the intersection of South Blount Street and Hoke Street.

Raleigh police officers and detectives were on scene late Friday night collecting evidence and determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.

This is an ongoing death investigation.
