'Operation Thunder on the Hill' combats guns, drugs and gangs in Nash County, sheriff's office says

The Nash County Sheriff's Office partnered with multiple agencies Thursday afternoon in an effort to stop illegal activity involving weapons, drugs and gangs in the area.

“Operation Thunder on the Hill” involved serving warrants, seizing drugs and firearms, and suppressing gang activity, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities conducted a search warrant on Star Street, which led to three arrests. Deputies recovered narcotics, three weapons and one of mass destruction.

Authorities are asking people to avoid the area.

The Nash County Sheriff's Office teamed up with the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office, Wake County Sheriff's Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) and North Carolina State Highway Patrol for the operation.
