Police said Friday that they have arrested one man and are searching for a second in the stabbing on a Walmart worker in Siler City five months ago.

Carlos Alejandro Cesmas Gomez was arrested Thursday by Siler City and Asheboro police officers on charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was being held in the Randolph County jail under $1.5 million bond.

Luis Gomez Sesmas is wanted on the same charges, police said.

A 57-year-old Walmart employee was stabbed multiple times while on a break on March 4. Police said she was in her car smoking a cigarette when she was attacked.

Two weeks before the stabbing, razor blades were found stuck under the handles of shopping carts at the same Walmart. At least one person was injured by the sharp blades.

Anyone with information on Gomez Sesmas' whereabouts is asked to call the Siler City Police Department at 919-742-5626.
