No. 1 seed Duke trails Virginia Tech 38-34 at halftime in the Sweet Sixteen

Washington — Shortly after UNC suffered an upset to Auburn, Duke is in danger of the same result versus Virginia Tech. The No. 1 seed Blue Devils trail the No. 4 seed Hokies 38-34 at halftime in the Sweet Sixteen.
Virginia Tech has started hot from 3-point range, making 7 of 17 from beyond the arc.
Tre Jones leads Duke with 12 points, which included three 3-pointers. Jones made only 1 out of 10 threes in the first two tournament games. Zion Williamson also has 11 points.
Shortly before the game, Duke announced Cam Reddish was dealing with a left knee injury and would be replaced in the starting lineup by Alex O'Connell. This is the first game Reddish has not started all season. He has not taken the floor yet this game.
Virginia Tech won the lone regular season matchup 77-72 on Feb. 27 when Williamson was out with a sprained knee.
The winner of this game will advance to the Elite Eight on Sunday and face No. 2 seed Michigan State. The Spartans defeated No. 3 seed LSU 80-63.
