Washington — In a game of runs, No. 1 seed Duke trails No. 2 seed Michigan State 34-30 at halftime in the Elite Eight.
Michigan State finished the half scoring 13 consecutive points.
This followed a 21-5 Duke run--including 12 unanswered points--that gave the Blue Devils a 30-21 advantage. R.J. Barrett scored 12 of Duke's 21 points during that run.
Barrett leads Duke with 12 points. Zion Williamson has seven points and six rebounds.
Duke guard Cam Reddish did not start but checked into the game at the 17:59 mark. He missed the Blue Devils' Sweet Sixteen win against Virginia Tech with an injured left knee. Reddish leads Duke with 87 made 3-pointers and averages 13.6 points per game, which is third most on the team.
The Blue Devils' early deficit came while they seemed content to settle for 3-pointers. Duke missed its first five 3-point attempts and finished the half 3-for-10 from beyond the arc.
The winner of this game will advance to the Final Four and face Texas Tech on Saturday in Minneapolis.
