Jury Finds Amerson Guilty in Girl's Murder

A Harnett County jury has found Quincy Amerson guilty of first-degree murder.

Amerson, 26, was convicted Thursday afternoon for the 1999 murder of Sharita Rivera. Prosecutors say that Amerson intentionally ran over the 7-year-old girl with a car.

Jurors found Amerson not guilty of a first-degree kidnapping count, which was included in the case. Sentencing begins Friday.
