NC Zoo to open new baboon exhibit Wednesday

The NC Zoo is unveiling its new baboon exhibit this week.

The habitat will open to the public on Wednesday.

You and your family can go see one of the largest bands of energetic Hamadryas Baboons in the country.

The rocky habitat mirrors the cliff faces of their natural habitat and lets the baboons show off their rock-climbing skills. 

The size of the habitat replicates their dynamic social system and allows multiple males to form "one-male units," which consist of one male, a few females and their offspring.
