The North Carolina Zoo announced Thursday they are expecting another member to their herd of giraffes.

According to the Zoo's Twitter page, the giraffe pairing of Jack and Leia are expecting a calf.

"As giraffes are heard animals, we anticipate they'll stick together and follow Leia, who may be in the barn," The Zoo said on Twitter.

The zoo said the Giraffe Deck may be affected and thanked the public for their patience.

Unlike humans, giraffes carry their offspring for 15 months and give birth standing up not to damage their babies' lengthy necks.
