NC State's Howling Cow ice cream available at more stores

More Harris Teeter locations are selling North Carolina State University's Howling Cow ice cream, the university announced Monday.

An additional 30 locations have started selling pints of the popular ice cream, which comes in six different flavors: Campfire Delight, Cookie Dough, Chocolate Chip Mint, Cookies and Cream, Butter Almond and Cherry Brick Road.

The ice cream has been made on campus for more than 70 years using milk from the university's cows at the N.C. State Dairy Farm on Lake Wheeler Road.

The ice cream is available for purchase at N.C. State campus venues and at the State Fair.

Harris Teeter has licensed the Howling Cow trademark and certain ingredients and formulas from the university as part of the deal. The university plans to use proceeds from the licensing agreement to fund student scholarships and dairy and agriculture initiatives.
