Jessica McDonald is the lone mom on the U.S. Women's National Team that won the World Cup Sunday in a match against the Netherlands.

McDonald also happens to be a player for the NC Courage, the professional women's team that plays in Cary, and a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate. Last year, we featured her right here on Go Ask Mom where she talked about how being a mom has changed the way she's thought about her soccer career.

"It has changed in many ways because I am taking care of another human being," she said. "Since I am a mom and professional athlete, I feel as if I have something more to prove. So, it forces my mindset to do better and better each day as a mom and as a pro footballer."

During the World Cup, McDonald's son, now 7, has been with his mom in France. Their reunion one day in June went viral. Love this.

They've been celebrating the success throughout their time there.

They danced to "Old Town Road" one night.

They had this sweet hug and kiss on the field.

And, on Sunday, McDonald took a moment on the field to celebrate her win with her little boy, writing simply, "We did it, bud!!!"

Congrats to Jess and the rest of the World Cup team, which also includes NC Courage players Abby Dahlkemper, Crystal Dunn and Sam Mewis. Dahlkemper, Dunn and Mewis each played in Sunday's game. The four champions could return to play for the NC Courage as soon as next week.
