Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University has some fun and FREE activities for families this summer.

Here's what's on the schedule:

Bilingual Storytime

In collaboration with the Durham County Library, the museum has a monthly Bilingual Storytime series for kids ages 1 to 5 and their families.

The storytime takes place in the museum's galleries. Kids listen to a story, read in both English and Spanish, participate in a quick discussion about art and then take part in a hands-on art making opportunity.

The storytimes take place this summer from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., June 13, July 11 and Aug. 8.

Nasher Creates

The museum also will host summer Nasher Creates programs. These drop-in creative workshops are designed for kids ages 5 to 10 and their parents. Activities are all free with museum admission (and admission is free for kids 17 and under). Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 65 and older and $4 for non-Duke students with a student ID.

Nasher Creates programs for kids are on Nasher's summer calendar, so far, for 10:15 a.m. to noon, June 13 and June 27.

Nasher is on the campus of Duke University and just down the street from Duke Gardens. Put the two together, and you have a great day out this summer.
