Morrisville man charged with child human trafficking

A Morrisville man was arrested at his home Thursday and charged with human trafficking of a minor.

West Hawkins Jr., 53, was charged with 14 counts of first-degree exploitation of a minor, human trafficking of a minor, promoting prostitution and aiding and abetting statutory rape.

His arrest stems from a joint investigation with the Human Trafficking Unit of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) beginning in August.

Hawkins was being held under a $2 million secured bond.
