McDonald's has more than 800 job openings in the Triangle.

Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin will speak at a hiring event Tuesday at the McDonald's at 105 E. South St. near Shaw University in Raleigh. The event will feature drive-up hiring with interviews on the spot between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Baldwin will be there between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to encourage people to apply. She spoke to WRAL News about the challenges the city has had when it comes to staffing.

"Many of our restaurants are struggling," Baldwin said. "They would love to open up during the day, but they can't, because they don't have the employees to do it ... there are some really wonderful opportunities."

Representatives from McDonald's will also discuss the company's educational benefits, like tuition assistance, and pay. McDonald's workers also get flexible scheduling and free meals, according to the company.

Interested applicants who can't be there in person can text ‘apply’ to 36453 to start an application via text. You can also find a restaurant near you and apply online at mcdonalds.com/careers.

There are a wide range of jobs available at different locations in Raleigh and Durham, including shift manager, department and general managers, delivery specialists, cashiers and crew members.
