Man killed after crashing into tree near Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh

A man was killed in an early morning crash on Lynn Road at Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

At 2:30 a.m., 35-year-old Lazaro Guido was traveling west on Lynn Road, approaching Glenwood Avenue, when his car ran off the road and struck a tree between Lynn Road and Glenwood Avenue.

Guido was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
