Man arrested in Wells Fargo robbery in Rocky Mount

A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a daytime Wells Fargo bank robbery.

A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a daytime Wells Fargo bank robbery.

On Monday around 1:15 p.m., Rocky Mount police responded to an alarm at the bank on 1400 Benvenue Road.

A man wearing a face mask and dark-colored hoodie passed a note to the teller demanding money. Police said the man stole an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and ran on foot from the bank.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect just before 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Mahmoud Shehadeh was charged with common law robbery. He received a $50,000 secured bond and was being held in the Nash County jail.

The bank reported no injuries and said the man did not display a weapon.
