Man arrested after K-9 finds over 20lbs of cocaine during traffic stop in Nash County
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Friday after finding over two dozen pounds of cocaine in his car.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a black Acura TL on I-95 South for driving over the speed limit.
A K-9 unit conducted a free-air sniff, which indicated the positive presence of narcotics.
During a probable cause search of the car, deputies located 26.4 pounds, or approximately 12 kilograms, of cocaine inside the vehicle.
The driver of the car, Alejandro Amador, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle to transport a controlled substance.
Authorities are holding Amador at the Nash County Detention Center under a $1.5 million bond.
