Berkeley Mall in Goldsboro and Golden East Crossing in Rocky Mount were evacuated on Tuesday after reports of a bomb threat.
Photos sent to the WRAL newsroom show police cars blocking entrances to Berkeley Mall.
No bombs were found and both malls opened after several hours closed.
A synagogue in Durham also had a bomb threat made through email on Tuesday. Authorities did not find any bombs related to that threat.
