Looking for a fun way to make money and memories this summer? Pullen Park is hoping to hire dozens of new employees to help keep the summer magical, just as they have for over a century.

Touted as a chance to be part of Raleigh history, the park is hiring people as young as 14 years old for a variety of jobs.

"We're been around 135 years, so it's a great opportunity to serve the community and have a fun job," says Cara McLeod, senior marketing communications analyst for the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources department.

The park is hosting a job fair on Thursday, May 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. in shelters 2 and 3. The event is almost like a carnival in itself -- including free pizza, popcorn and even games, alongside open interviews.

Among the dozens of available jobs are roles such as attraction assistants, parking greeters and guest assistants. They also need attraction leaders who can operate the amusements – including people to drive the iconic train or manage the historic carousel. They also need help with maintenance, cleaning equipment, sanitization and customer support to help with park rentals.

The website has a full list of open positions as well as more details about the job fair.

"There's something different every day," says McLeod. "That's what I love about working in parks."

Most of all, McLeod says employees get to help create memories for families at a park that's been part of the community for generations.
