Raleigh's 4th annual Field of Honor
May 26 to 29

West Raleigh Baseball Complex, 830 Barringer Drive, Raleigh

This stirring display of 501 flags will bring the community together in a patriotic tribute to honor our heroes. Each U.S. flag represents an individual and tells a story.

Triangle Wind Ensemble Concert: The Music of John Williams
Sunday, May 28 at 7 p.m.
Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary

John Williams has been called America's greatest living composer. This concert of his most popular and exciting works will also include a patriotic tribute in recognition of Memorial Day weekend. Buy tickets online.

Unity Music Festival
May 28 and May 29
Freedom Field, 207 South Center St., Goldsboro

The Unity Music Festival will feature jazz music from some remarkable musical performers, food vendors, refreshments, and activities to engage the entire community.

Raleigh National Cemetery's Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 at 10 a.m.
501 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh

Cary's Memorial Day Remembrance
Monday, May 29 at 2:30 p.m.
Veterans Freedom Park, 1517 N Harrison Ave, Cary

The patriotic ceremony will honor fallen veterans of all wars and conflicts. Limited seating is available. For your own comfort, you are welcome to bring a chair.

Apex Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 at 9 a.m.
Corner of Salem and Saunders streets

A ceremony will be hosted by the Apex American Legion at the Downtown Service Memorial.

Knightdale Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m.
Knightdale Station Park, 810 N. First Ave., Knightdale

The keynote speaker will be Lieutenant General John N.T. "Jack" Shanahan, United States Air Force (Retired).

Garner Memorial Day Remembrance
Monday, May 29 at 9:30 a.m.
Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner

Attendees are encouraged to bring camper chairs for comfort. Tim Stevens will deliver this year's keynote address.

Johnston County Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m.
Johnston County Courthouse, 207 E. Johnston St., Smithfield

Memorial Day at Freedom Memorial Park in Fayetteville
Monday, May 29 at 10 a.m.

Roxboro Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m.
Person County Veteran's Park, 316 S. Morgan St., Roxboro

This ceremony will focus on honoring the people from Roxboro who have died while fighting for our freedom.

Peace Meditate-A-Thon on Memorial Day
Monday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Won Buddhism Meditation Temple, 8021 Old N.C. 86, Chapel Hill

Through this day-long meditation in noble silence, come and sit, then pass peaceful energy to others. From 9 to 9:30 a.m. there will be a prayer ceremony followed by continuous 25-minute meditation sessions until 5 p.m.

Historic Oakwood Tribute to Veterans in Raleigh
Monday, May 29 at 4 p.m.

The new Veterans’ Field of Honor located within Historic Oakwood Cemetery is the site for a 45-minute ceremony featuring keynote speaker  Dan McNeill, retired Army General who served as both the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division and commanding general, US Army Forces Command. Music will be provided by 2d Marine Aircraft Wing Band.

2023 First Fruits Farm Memorial Balloon Festival
June 3 and 4
2805 E. River Road, Louisburg

This festival, which includes hot air balloons, food and craft vendors and a Memorial Day remembrance, was rescheduled to June 3 and 4 due to inclement weather.
