Lidl grocery delivery begins 12/7

Shipt, an online grocery delivery company, will begin delivering groceries from the Lidl in Raleigh on Thursday, December 7. The delivery service is only available to select zip codes in the area.

Membership Fee: The annual cost of a Shipt membership is $99 and it is $14 per month if you decide to go month to month. According to their press release, new Shipt members who sign up prior to expansion will receive an annual membership for $49.

Delivery Fee: The delivery fee is $7 for orders less than $35 and there is no delivery fee for orders over $35.

Product Cost: The products you can order from Lidl for delivery through the Shipt app are not the same prices as you will find in stores. According to their website, "Shipt prices will vary slightly from in-store prices to help cover the costs of picking, packing and processing. Our members can expect to pay about $5 more using Shipt than they would on a $35 order purchased in the store themselves. Though our weekly deals don’t always reflect in-store pricing, all Shipt sales are offered in one convenient place – our “What’s On Sale” category – for easy browsing."

Shoppers: Leading up to the expansion, Shipt plans to hire additional shoppers across both the North Carolina and South Carolina network. They will be a part of the team responsible for ensuring complete, accurate fulfillments of each order. To apply to be a Shipt Shopper, visit Shipt.com and click “Get Paid to Shop.”

This Lidl delivery service is also available starting 12/7/17 in Winston-Salem and Charlotte (Waxhaw and southwest Charlotte).
