WCNC Charlotte reports a dog belonging to actor Angie Harmon was shot and killed outside her Charlotte home over Easter weekend.

On Monday, the former "Law and Order" star posted on Instagram:

"This Easter weekend a man delivering groceries for Instacart shot & killed our precious Oliver," Harmon wrote. "He got out of his car, delivered the food & THEN shot our dog."

Harmon wrote the family's Ring doorbell camera was charging inside the house, so the man "knew he wasn't being recorded."

According to Harmon, the man claimed self-defense and was not charged.

"He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn," Harmon wrote.

WCNC reports a police report filed by a CMPD officer after the incident classifies the event as "non-criminal." The documentation does not detail what may have occurred but does reference the recovery of a shell casing, according to WCNC.

Instacart disabled the driver's account and released the following statement:

"We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident. We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform."
