With scorching temperatures this week prompting excessive heat warnings, families are going to be looking for ways to stay cool.

To avoid heat exhaustion, you will want to try to avoid working or playing outdoors between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when it's usually the hottest.

Indoor playgrounds are a great option to stay cool and keep the children happy! We have a list of indoor playgrounds, trampoline parks and other places to bring the kids to play indoors!

If you want to go to a pool or sprayground, you can look at our list of public pool options. Note that a lifeguard shortage has some public pools closed in Raleigh.
