Jeremiah's Italian Ice keeps it cool during a hot summer with tasty frozen treats

With a hot summer ahead, there are many ways to keep cool, including enjoying tasty frozen treats in Wake Forest from Jeremiah's Italian Ice.

Owners Ryan and Lauren Henriquez opened the shop to create long-lasting memories for future generations and impact the community.

"Just being a part of the community, bringing the new vibrant, bold concept to the area is something we are proud of," said Ryan Henriquez. "(We’re) making our landmark in the community, and we couldn't be happier coming from a corporate background to opening our ice shop."

Customers can choose between signature styles of treats from The Gelati to Italian ice to soft ice cream.

"We are known for our Gelati's, which are layers of Italian ice and ice cream," said Ryan. "It's smoother, creamer, richer than your traditional Italian ice."

This franchise shop contains 24 delicious classic and unique flavors such as Bahama freeze, strawberry, mango, pina colada, sea-salted caramel and more.

"We have multiple flavors, and our fans' favorites are cookies and cream, Oreo mud pies and strawberry shortcake," said Ziyan Williams, Jeremiah's Italian Ice employee.

Williams says he loves his job, serving customers and working with the Henriquez couple, who have taught him a lot.

"I really like working here and meeting new people," said Williams. "It's also an amazing atmosphere to be in."

The Henriquezes say they wanted to make a safe place for people in the community to turn off their phones, relax and let go of their worries.

"We want to make your day, so it starts with our team up at the front, who people see first as soon as they walk through the door," said Lauren Henriquez. "Knowing that we are happy to see them and want them to have a fun experience."

Customers' furry babies can also enjoy treats because the shop serves pup cups with peanut butter ice flavor. Jeremiah's can also come to the customer. They can cater various events, including birthday parties, holiday parties, anniversaries, school functions or any occasion.

Jeremiah's Italian Ice was founded in 1988 by Jeremy Litwack. In 2019, they launched a franchise program with hundreds of stores expanding nationwide and recently in NC.

The shop has locations in Wake Forest, Greensboro, Wilmington and several in the Charlotte area.

"If you love ice cream and having fun, come by," said Lauren Henriquez. "You can also try new flavors and create unforgettable memories."
