J.C. Raulston Arboretum, part of N.C. State, is offering I Spy Tours for kids and families.

Here's a description, courtesy of the arboretum's website: Choose a topic, gather your group, and come out to enjoy an outdoor learning experience in the Arboretum gardens. Your hour-long experience starts at the Visitor Center where your tour guide gives your group an introduction to the JC Raulston Arboretum. With your tour guide, explore the gardens while focused on your chosen topic. At the end of the tour, pick up a "Take & Make" craft or science activity to complete at home.

Tours are $50 for no more than 10 total participants, including both kids and adults. They are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Themes include Birds in the Garden, Weather Watchers and Blooming Fun.

"The tour groups are purposely kept small to help maintain social distancing while allowing children and families to explore the garden and make observations," according to Raulston's website.

The arboretum is currently open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, weekdays. Head over to its website for more information about the I Spy Tours. Advance purchase is required.

The arboretum also will be hosting a virtual Garden Spot for kids from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, via its Facebook and Instagram pages. The focus will be on bees and how they help gardens.
