Internet and phone service was down Tuesday at three schools in Wake County on the first week of classes.

The outage was reported around 9 a.m. by district officials and was affecting Leesville Road elementary, middle and high schools.

It's unclear at this time what caused the outage or when service will be restored.

"Spectrum has been notified of the outage, though the cause of the outage and the estimated time of repair have not been determined," according to a statement from district officials. "Technicians are currently investigating the issue."

According to the website DownDetector, several customers have reported issues with Spectrum in the Raleigh area starting at around 12 a.m. Tuesday.
