HVAC companies making up to 60 house visits every day during heat wave

It's been a hot summer so far, and staying cool can be hard. The heat puts stress on your air conditioning unit as well.

Local service companies said they're seeing more and more calls from people who need help keeping cool.

HVAC companies said it's important to remain patient if you need a service call.

Michael and Son technicians are making 50 to 60 home visits a day.

Not only is that stretching the company's work force thin, but supply chain issues are also forcing some repairs to take longer than usual.

HVAC service technicians are working hard to keep everyone's AC running.

"I think we're a little more accustomed to it than we have been in years past," said Jason Litvak, a technician at Michael and Son. "But we are seeing where, especially on some specialty order parts, we could be a week or more out on those. We are asking our customers to be as patient as possible."

Michael and Son said you can avoid many problems by getting scheduled maintenance work done twice a year -- once before the summer and once before the winter.
