Bridge to Türkiye Fund is based in the Triangle to connect community-minded Turkish Americans and Friends of Türkiye with the simple desire to give back.
CNN put together a website where Americans can donate money to help with relief efforts.
Donations benefit six organizations, including Cooperative For Assistance And Relief Everywhere (CARE), Humanity & Inclusion, International Rescue Committee (IRC), Mercy Corps, Save The Children and World Vision International.
People can also donate to help earthquake victims through the Red Cross.
More than 8,000 people have been pulled from the debris in Turkey alone, and some 380,000 have taken refuge in government shelters or hotels, said Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said 13 million of the country's 85 million were affected in some way. For the entire quake-hit area, that number could be as high as 23 million people, according to Adelheid Marschang, a senior emergencies officer with the World Health Organization.
