Ment Beverage Co., which makes Honeygirl Mead, is opening a new location at American Tobacco Campus in Durham early next year, the company announced this week.

Honeygirl Meadery will be located at 312 Blackwell St. across from Durham Performing Arts Center. It will include a 3,000 square-foot tasting room and production facility. There will be two bars. Construction is currently underway.

The new location will allow the company to expand its products to include mead, cider, locally brewed beer, distilled spirits and nonalcoholic sparkling beverages.

With indoor and outdoor seating, guests can enjoy drinks on site or sip and stroll through the Bullpen social district area.

Honeygirl Meadery is based in Durham and uses local fruits, flowers and herbs from small North Carolina farms to create its products.
