Highway Patrol: Person who hit Amazon truck ran from scene, no one in custody

Sampson County authorities are searching for a person that hit an Amazon delivery truck Wednesday in Godwin.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol, the person hit the back of the truck at 12:55 p.m. on US. Highway 13 near Autry Mill Road.

Authorities said after the collision, the person got out with a gun and ran from the scene.

Highway Patrol and the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office searched the area near the accident but were unable to find the driver.
