Here comes the sun: Dry, brisk weather will usher in Thanksgiving week
After a cold, wet and overcast week, the sun finally made its appearance on Friday and Saturday. Thankfully, its light will stick around for the remainder of the weekend and for Thanksgiving week.
Though Saturday will be chilly with highs in the mid 50s, the sun was shining bright on spectators at the Raleigh Christmas Parade.
After the parade, expect plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 50s for the WRAL Winter Wonderland celebration.
Following Saturday's festivities, the forecast only gets better. Sunday will be slightly warmer than Saturday, with a high around 60 degrees, before a big warm-up for Monday and Tuesday.
Monday will likely be the warmest day of the week, with highs in the mid 60s, before temperatures drop again Wednesday.
Thanksgiving will be the coolest day of the week.
"It's a ways off, but so far it appears that after a bit of a warming trend through Monday, we'll cool back down by mid-week," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss. "Thanksgiving is likely to be bright but chilly, with lows near freezing and afternoon temperatures edging just past 50 degrees."
