Carefully, Cary animal services frees goose tangled in net

Officials with Cary Police Animal Services made a rescue Monday afternoon, freeing a goose from a net that got stuck around its neck and mouth.

Visitors to the Downtown Cary Park called for help after spotting the goose. The net kept it from being able to open its mouth to feed.

Animal Services officials grabbed the goose with a safety net, pulled it from the water and gently cut apart the net. The goose, whom onlookers named Gregg Da Goose was safely released back into the pond without injury.
