Four people are in custody after a high-speed chase Monday that stretched through multiple counties.

According to State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to a speeding call around 2 p.m. The Highway Patrol said a car blew past a trooper in Sampson County, then refused to stop.

The chase then ended after the suspects sideswiped a car and then hit another at the intersection of US-70 and Miller's Chapel Road in Wayne County.

Troopers said the suspects car came to a stop after sliding into a ditch in front of a Clayton Homes dealership, where employees said the four suspects ran inside. Troopers later found the suspects in the back of the offices and arrested them.

The suspects were arrested after leading Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed-chase through multiple counties.

Highway Patrol said they could not confirm the names and ages of the four arrested at this time.

Investigators are also working to determine if the car they were in was stolen, and if there's a tie to crimes out of state, including in New York.

State Highway Patrol confirms, at a minimum, all four will likely face felony eluding and other charges.
