Former Sky 5 pilot, war veteran dies at 74

WRAL News is remembering Vietnam War veteran and pilot Randolph Diuguid who recently passed away.

Diuguid flew as a Sky 5 pilot for WRAL from 1982 through 1984. He was a back-up pilot and also served as the interim pilot for a while.

He served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. Diuguid was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal for Heroism, among others.

The Army veteran died at age 74 earlier this month.

Diuguid will be recognized for his honorable service and dedication at a graveside memorial on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Raleigh Memorial Park.
