Firefighters will be disciplined after rap video filmed inside Raleigh firehouse

Five Raleigh firefighters will be disciplined after a music video was filmed at a Raleigh Fire Department firehouse, sources told WRAL News.

The Raleigh Fire Department said the video was filmed Jan. 29 at Fire Station 12 on Poole Road.

Raleigh Professional Firefighters Association Local 548, which represents Raleigh firefighters, said they were informed five firefighters will be disciplined for their involvement.

"We are aware of disciplinary actions issued to the members we represent for the incident that occurred on January 29th at Station 12. We are looking further into the matter to ensure all policies and procedures were followed," Local 548 told WRAL News.

The video, posted to YouTube by local rapper CEO Showoutt, showed flashing lights from the firetrucks parked inside the firehouse for his newest single, "Fire Drill."

WRAL News contacted the Raleigh Fire Department, who released the following statement.

“The Raleigh Fire Department is aware of the rap video produced in front of Station 12. The Raleigh Fire Department is investigating the matter.”

WRAL News asked CEOShowoutt about the RFD’s statement. The rapper did not respond to WRAL News but posted several stories on Instagram, saying he asked for permission before filming.

“I’m trying to figure out how it’s an investigation. I literally asked to do it,” he said. “Take that up with the fire departments…I didn’t do nothing wrong.”

It is unclear how often the Raleigh Fire Department has allowed music videos at their firehouses or if they will change any policies moving forward.

The names of the involved firefighters were not released. WRAL News is working to learn how exactly they were involved in the video.
