Final Rankings: Eastern Guilford boys wrestling leads dual-team statewide top 25; Seaforth and others lead area codes

In the final boys dual-team wrestling area code rankings, Washington is ranked first in the 252, Seaforth in the 919, Lumberton in the 910, Eastern Guilford in the 336, West Rowan in the 704, and Avery County in the 828.

3A Dual-Team Wrestling: Eastern Guilford vs. Union Pines (Feb. 3, 2024)

For the first time, Eastern Guilford is the No. 1 team in the final HighSchoolOT statewide top 25 boys dual-team wrestling rankings, taking the top spot in the final rankings after winning the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A championship and ending the year with a 48-0 record.

None of the top 10 teams had more than two losses this season and four of the top five were state champions: No. 2 Trinity (2A), No. 3 Uwharrie Charter (1A), and No. 5 Davie County (4A).

Northwest Guilford, last year's No. 1, finished 22nd.

In total, 13 teams from the preseason top 25 made the final statewide rankings, with Trinity the highest-ranked team who was unranked at the outset. Of the preseason top 10, five of them ended in the top 10 and two more were were in the top 12.

The full rankings — a statewide Top 25 and Top 15 rankings for each of the state’s six area codes — are below.

The HSOT all-state team will be released in the coming weeks.
