For the second year in a row, Central Cabarrus not only won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A boys basketball championship with an undefeated record — it took home the No. 1 spot in the final HighSchoolOT statewide top 25 rankings.

The top four teams in the final top 25 were all champions — No. 2 Reidsville in 2A, No. 3 North Mecklenburg in 4A, and No. 4 Christ School in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A class. Other champions included No. 21 Wilson Prep in 1A, and No. 12 Forsyth Country Day (NCISAA 3A), No. 19 Davidson Day (NCISAA 2A), and No. 22 Victory Christian Center (NCISAA 1A).

Previous final rankings, all-state teams

In total, 16 teams from the preseason top 25 made the final statewide rankings, with No. 12 Forsyth Country Day the highest-ranked team who was unranked at the outset. Of the preseason top 10, seven of them ended in the top 10 and one more was 11th.

The full rankings — a statewide Top 25 and Top 15 rankings for each of the state’s six area codes — are below.

The HSOT all-state team will be released in the coming weeks.
