The Fayetteville City Council will discuss rules to end race-based hair discrimination during a meeting on Monday.

Those rules are known as the CROWN Act, and would ban discrimination in the workplace based on a person’s hair texture or hairstyle. The U.S. House passed similar legislation last year.

Durham became one of the first cities in North Carolina to pass a resolution in favor of similar rules.
